現為香港 a prisoner in Hong Kong Prison humbly showeth That on the 2nd October, 1973, the appeal 監獄囚犯 謹陳 of your humble Petitioner was dismissed and he is now a con- demned prisoner waiting to be executed for the offence of murder.

That your humble Petitioner is seeking for mercy from Your Excellency the Governor to save him from this punishment.

That your humble Petitioner is aged 24 years, he is the eldest son and second eldest child in a family of ten children ranging in age from 28 years to 10 years. Your humble Petitioner's family have always been in very poor financial circumstances and in consequence thereof your humble Petitioner has resided for most of his life in substandard overcrowded residences in low class areas. He was carrying on this business at the time of the offence for which he now stands condemned.

In that year your humble Petitioner became in love with a girl named Wong Yuk Ying and in 1972 your humble Petitioner and the said girl commenced co-habitation. Inmediately after commencing co-habitation with the said girl, your humble Petitioner discovered that the said girl earned her living by working as a prostitute. This fact greatly distressed your humble Petitioner but dispite his repeated requests, she refused to change her occupation and as he loved her dearly he could not bring himself to part with her. Your humble Petitioner did

not receive any money from the said Wong Yuk Ying. It was through this girl that your humble Petitioner was introduced to and began associating with the other persons who took part in perpetrating the above referred to crime. Your humble Petitioner wishes to stress that though he knew and occasionally associated with the above referred people, his association with them was only of a social nature and he in no way took part in any illegal business activities or discussions with them.

On the evening of this fatal incident, your humble Petitioner accompanied the
