She had arrived at Yen Chow Street by car and went
up to the flat ahead of her escorts. When they eventually
came to the flat they were met outside by a gang of 6 or 7 men,
including TSE and LAM, and also HO So-kuen. Their hands were
tied behind their backs and one of the two was then made to

stand in front of the spy-hole in the door to the flat and ring
the bell. This induced the girl who had just returned to open
the door and the gang then rushed in and violently attacked the
three men.
The intruders were armed with knives and other
weapons.

There was evidence that CHENG attacked the deceased,
and the others. He was subsequently identified at an identi-
fication parade. The victims were .all unarmed.

The attack was a planned one and HO So-kuen's gang
had assembled in a restaurant sometime before setting out for
the flat in Yen Chow Street. HO, who was the leader, distributed
the weapons used by his gang.

One of the three victims sought refuge in what was
called the telephone room in the flat and was pursued there.
The deceased ran into the bedroom under attack and was assaulted
with great violence there, though there was no real evidence
that CHENG was involved in the final attack.
Among other
injuries, he was stabbed twice in the heart and medical evidence

was that he died within a few minutes.

DEFENCE.
CHENG said that he was on his way home at about 10.45 p.m.
when he met HO So-kuen. HO greeted him and asked if he was free.
