There were cut and stab wounds on her scalp and her eyelids were lacerated with cuts. A piece of line was tied round her left wrist and then looped round her right wrist about eighteen inches apart. It then continued to encircle the neck twice loosely with her hair inside the loop.

The deceased was seen alive at about 1.30 p.m. on the day in question by another amah whom she visited. About half an hour after the deceased returned to the flat at which she worked, the other amah went to the flat to see if she could borrow an iron. She could obtain no answer on ringing the doorbell. Nor could two delivery boys who called on the flat later that same afternoon.

The deceased's body was found at about 6. 15 p.m. that evening following her employer's return from work.
