FU SHING PEOPLE'S COMMUNE

PO ON COUNTY, KWANGTUNG PROVINCE

PART I

LOCATION, BOUNDARIES AND POPULATION

FU SHING ((M) FUCHENG) (7096/1004) People's

Commune borders directly on the Colony of HONG KONG, and

occupies almost the entire length of the 22 mile land

frontier. It includes the SHUM CHUN ((M) SHENCHUAN) and

LIN TONG ((M) LIENTANG) valleys extending from SHA TAU HUI

((M) SHATOUSHU) (GR KV 9395) in the West, to KING TO ((M)

CHINGTU) (GR KV 1097) in the East. In the western sector,

the northern boundary is defined by the range of hills

running roughly parallel with the SHUM CHUN River. In the

central sector, it includes SUN KONG ((M) HSINKANG)

(GR KV 0298) and SHUI PUI ((M) SHUISHENG) (GR KV 0399), and

in the eastern sector, the northern boundary runs around the

southern side and part of the eastern side of the SHUM CHUN

Reservoir, (see Annex 'A' for geographical details).

SHUM CHUN, the capital town of PO ON ((M) PAOAN)

County, lies in the centre of the FU SHING Commune area

but does not. form an integral part of it. PO ON County

Headquarters including the seat of the County C.C.P. and

Revolutionary Committees, is located in TSOI UK WAI ((M)

TSAIWUWEI) (GR KV 0196) shown on the attached map as

HUNGLING.

TSOI UK WAI lies within FU SHING Commune and

contains the Commune Headquarters.
