DEFENCE REVIEW: OFFICE MEETING, 11 AM, THURSDAY U NOVEL EMR
]. It has been suggested that there should be an early Office mecting of the Under-Secretarios and Heads of the Departments concerned with the berence Review, under Lr Thomson's chairmanship in order: -
(a)
(b)
to hear from him a fuller account of the Mashington and Bonn consultations than there may be time for at the morning meeting of Under-Secretaries, and
to decide on further action, notably the preparation of briefs for the Secretary of State for the Cabinet meeting on 20 November and the handling of consultations with our allics, particularly as regards our nou-LATO commitments.
2. After consulting Under-Secretaries, I have arranged the restin at 11 am tomorrow (or as soon after that as the mecting of Under- Secretaries ends) in Room ERS 21 in Defence Department (second floor of the Downing Street, East building). I am alerting
Ir Thomson (and will let you know at once if he should be misble for any reason to get to a meeting at that time.) The meeting will
need to end at about 11.50.
3. All those to whom this minule is addressed may wish to attend, or send representatives. I should be grateful if those who do intend Lo would let my Pa know in advance if they have time (iss Satterthwaite, MB 1422).
