b. Withdrawals from various areas are interrelated and

adjustments may have to be made later to individual plans.

C. Servicemen posted abroad who cannot serve there for

at least six months will not be entitled to accompanied

service.

Dependants may remain until the head of family is

posted provided this is administratively possible.

e. If any rear 'parties have to be left after the

withdrawal dates shown above, their size and length of

stay must not involve significant expenditure.

Contingency plans should cover, where appropriate, local

factors affecting the nature of the withdrawal, including:

envisaged, the dates for relinquishing operational capabilities,

personnel reductions prior to withdrawal, LEP/IEC redundancies

(not Malta), and any recommended variations of normal procedure for

disposal of assets.

You are to report by 15 Jan 1975.7 any major difficulties

you foresce, the key dates you propose for the withdrawal of

units or cessation of particular activities and any subjects on

which you require guidance from the Chiefs of Staff.

In the cases

of Hong Kong and Cyprus where proposed reductions are not yet

firm such action is not required at present.
