NEW DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION FOR HONG KONG

Please see the attached minute from the ODA Education Adviser. The Director's salary as at 1.7.73 was HK$13,500 per month, but I have no knowledge of other conditions of employment. In any case, I am not sure we should agree to Mr. Thornton acting as proposed without first clearing it with Hong Kong. If you agree, shall I write to Alan Scott?
