(ii) Age Limits
The allowances are payable from the beginning of the term in which the child reaches his or her eleventh birthday up to the end of the term in which he or she becomes nineteen.
(iii) Options
The allowances will not be paid unless the officer has been appointed on the new leave terms or has opted for the new leave turms. An officer who so opts may cla im from the beginning of the school term next after the date of exercising his option.

An officer joining the service may ola im Educa ti on Allowances from the beginning of the school term next after the date of his appointment under E.R. 160.
Officers Retiring, Resigning or being Invalided from the Service
An officer may claim up to the end of the term which begins prior to the date of his leaving provided that the eligibility of an officer who resigns from Govern- ment service without giving due notice will cease with effect from the day the officer leaves the service. In the latter case the officer may be required to make a pro-rata refund in accordance with the formula in para. 15,
(vi) Leave
When an officer proceeds on:
(a) No Pay Leave he may claim allowances up to the end
of the term which begins prior to his commencing no pay leave;
(b) Sick Leave he may continue to claim allowances;
(o) Vacation Leave he may continue to daim allowames,
but his eligibility for the Day School Allowance will be subject to the conditions of this allowance.
(vii) Termination of Servio e
Where the services of an officer are termina ted by Government his eligibility for allowances will cease with effect from the date of the officer's termination of service and the officer may be required to make a pro-rata refund in accordance with the formula in para. 15.
