Undo the provisions of Regulation 22 of the wors and cats epulations (167), no reason is permitted to slaughter any cop for use us food, whether for human consumptior. or otherwise. Cruelty to animals is prohibited in Fong kong under the revention of Cruelty to animals ordinance (ca 169). any person who inflicts or permits cruelty to animals is lible on summary conviction to a fine of hk 1,000 and to imprisontent for six ronths. The lion ong Government take a serious view c^ cruelty and whenever any evidence is available, prosecution is instituted in every case.
