I have the honour to submit to you the following Resolution which was unanimously adopted at the XVI World Conference of the International Council for Bird

Preservation, held in Canberra, Australia, 19-25 August 1974, with a request that the matter be taken up with the Hong Kong Government:

The XVI World Conference of the International Council for Bird Preservation

URGES the Government of the United Kingdom on behalf of Hong Kong

a to take prompt and effective measures to reduce the volume

of the trade in wild birds;

(b) to stop entirely the trade in birds of prey, a group in danger;

(c) improve the conditions for birds being traded.

I also enclose for your information a copy of a letter we have written to His Excellency the Governor, containing other Resolutions applicable to Hong Kong.
