IMPORTATION OF WILDLIFE FROM CHINA INTO HONG KONG

With my submission of 24 April I submitted a draft reply, which Lord Goronwy-Roberts approved, to letters addressed to Sir Anthony Royle by Mr Tam Dalyell MP about the BBC Radio 4 programme on the import of wildlife from China into Hong Kong.
I now submit draft replies to the letters received on this subject from ten other MPs who are still in Parliament. I suggest that Lord Goronwy-Roberts's Private Secretary should
send similar letters to the four MPs who also wrote on the same
subject and who are no longer in Parliament. The central part of all these letters is identical. I would normally recommend tailoring the substance of replies to individual correspondents. But in this
case the wording has been carefully worked out, is applicable to all the letters that have been received, and I recommend that we should stick to it. I understand that this is acceptable to Lord Goronwy-Roberts.
Each reply should enclose a copy of the Code of
Standards, a supply of which is attached.
