TRADE IN LIVE ANIMALS BETWEEN CHINA AND HONG KONG
1. We spoke on the telephone on 12 February about correspondence from the public on trade between China and Hong Kong. I enclose a copy of a letter dealing with this issue as well as several points which are for DOE to answer. Also I enclose a copy of my reply and trust that you will be writing at a later date to cover the FCO issue.
2. I would be grateful if you would let me know the final outcome of your approaches to China and Hong Kong as this could have some bearing on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.with which I am dealing at the moment.
