Before the dissolution of Parliament Mr Anthony Grant,

in his capacity as a Member of Parliament, wrote to the then

from one of his constituents, Mrs O M Hume, about the slaughter of

cattle in Hong Kong. His letter was passed to Mr Blaker for reply.

Mr Grant has been re-elected as MP for Harrow Central.

We consulted the Governor of Hong Kong on this case and

an interim reply was sent to Mr Grant on 18 February.

We have now received a reply from Hong Kong and I attach

a draft reply to Mr Grant based upon the advice from Hong Kong.
