The United Kingdom would like to see a much bigger Community quota for 1975 than the 22,000 tons that has been proposed. We want a larger quota primarily for tobacco from the Indian sub-continent and we can use all our quota next
We should year for tobacco from these sources. like a Community quota of 35,000 tons with a share for the United Kingdom of 28,000 tons. This is the quantity of tobacco we expect to import from the JDI countries next year. [If
there is resistance or if there are demands for the shares of member states to be revised_7 The very least we could reasonably agree to is a share for the United Kingdom of 22,000 tons within whatever Community quota is eventually
agreed.
