United Kingdom Exports to Ilong Kong

8. United Kingdom exports to Hong Kong for the first nine months of this year were valued at $122.7 m. compared with £92.8 m. for January-September 1973, an increase of 32.2%. Of the major export items, non-electrical machinery exports were valued at £14.1 m. (+11.3%) and electrical machinery at £20.5 m. (+1.8%). Exports of transport equipment showed a large increase. These were valued at £15.8 m. compared with £10.5 m. for January- September 1973, giving an increase of +50.7%. Textile exports, wath £11.7 m., were up 19.7% over the corresponding period last

year.

9. When comparing the figures for the quarter July to September with those of the previous quarter, the value of UK exports decreased slightly from £40.6 m. to £40.5 m. Non-electrical machinery continued to show an increase, from £3.9 m. to £5.2 m. (+30.6%), also textiles, from £3.4 m. to £4.9 m. (+41.1%). Exports of electrical machinery were down from £8.0 m. to £7.5 m. (-6.2%) and transport equipment from £3.4 m. to £2.6 m. (-23.9%).
