Mr

WORLD COIN CORPORATION LTD

1.

Please see my minutes of 28 June and 1 July attached, concerning the approaches to me by Commander Parker on the question of coins for Hong Kong.

2. Commander Parker has been on to me again, asking whether I have been able to get hold of the Hong Kong Coinage Order. His knowledge of the workings of this Office is considerable and I felt forced to admit that I expected it shortly from the Library. It is of course attached behind my minutes. Commander Parker asked if I would let him have a copy as soon as it was available.

3. This is embarrassing because Commander Parker's aim is to take business away from the Royal Mint. The latter are strongly opposed to this and as a Government Office we should do nothing to facilitate loss of UK business. On the other hand, the Hong Kong Coinage Order 1936 must be available to the public and you may therefore feel that we can pass a copy on to Commander Parker without undue worry. If challenged, we could presumably defend ourselves by saying that it could be obtained.but we thale could nonetheless be accused of facilitating the matter.

4. I should be grateful for a decision as to whether I may or may not pass on a copy to Commander Parker.
