by SAS to British Airways for the latter's loss of revenue.
The Scandinavians refused even to consider compensation and the
talks adjourned sine die. The Hong Kong Government are now
trying privately to encourage the Scandinavians to reconsider
the compensation question. If there were a satisfactory outcome
to this, the obstacle to an SAS route to Hong Kong would be
removed.

UK/Australia air traffic rights.
Negotiations are being held with the Australians in Melbourne
this month at the request of the Australian Government.
This
is a major re-negotiation and Hong Kong's interests will be
taken into account. A representative of the Hong Kong
Government is participating in the talks.

UK/Japan air services agreement.
This is also due for re-negotiation in June this year.
Hong Kong Government nominee will join our delegation.

Due
account will be taken of Hong Kong's interests. The Hong Kong/
Japan route is of major interest to CPA.
