Sir Duncan Watson
MINISTERIAL VISITS COMMITTEE ON THURSDAY 2 MAY
1.
The Committee is to hold its next meeting on Thursday
2 May at 3.30 pm in the PUS's office. I attach a copy of the
form which we have sent direct to Protocol and Conference
Department.
HONG KONG
2.
British newspapers reported on 16 April that the Prime
Minister had been invited to visit China. If this invitation
was indeed given, and if it is accepted, then a prime ministerial
visit to Hong Kong would be probable. But all this seems remote
in present political circumstances.
3.
The Governor will be in the UK from 15-25 June. He will
speak at the Hong Kong Association dinner on 24 June. He plans
to visit the Office for discussions from 17-20 June.
