Following our discussion about Hong Kong I wonder if you could provide me with a short briefing paper suitable for sending to the Labour Party Inter- national Committee covering the following points:-
1) Wage rates in Hong Kong (with suitable comparisons with places such as Japan, Singapore);
2)

Social Service spending, housing etc (as a proportion of GNP and compared with elsewhere in South-East Asia);
Trade union organisation including percentage of working population in trade unions and any restrictions on trade union organisations;
4) Hong Kong as an implementor of ILO
conventions with comparisons.
