I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr. I. F. C. Macpherson, J. P., provisionally, and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 13th May 1974 during the absence from the Colony of Mr. D. Akers-Jones, J. P.

Mr. Macpherson's previous appointment referred to in your despatch HKK 1/8 dated 23rd May 1973 expired on 23rd August 1973 following the return to the Colony of Mr. D. C. Bray, J. P.
