I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr LI Fook-kow, J. P., provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 23rd July 1974 and have revoked the appointment of Mr P. B. Williams, J. P. with effect from the same date.

Mr Li whose substantive membership expired on 30th June this year, has now resumed as Secretary for Social Services.

Copies of the instrument of appointment and of the Gazette notice promulgating the appointment are attached.
