As you inferred, we had not been kept in touch with recent developments, and I should be grateful if DTI could arrange for us to have copies of notes of meetings such as that of 30 and 31 August which mark important stages in the discussions about UK participation in this project.

Is it the possible the present position of the UK consortium. case that unless they accept the condition of a fixed price of Hong Kong $5,000m for the first four stages they are no longer in the running, on the assumption that one or other of the other consortia is prepared to accept this price?
