HONG KONG UNDERGROUND
1. In his speech introducing the Hong Kong Budget for 1973, the Financial Secretary, Mr Haddon-Cave, announced that, subject to the Finance Committee's approval, he intended to appropriate HK 500 million for a special fund towards equity contribution for the underground. It is intended to add a similar sum next year. The remainder of the final total of HK$ 1,500 million is expected to come later from the private sector.
2. I attach a photocopy of this section of Mr Haddon-Cave's statement.
