Law in P Bangkok to assume post
The former head of the Anti- Corruption Bureau, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Peter Law, is at present in Bangkok to take up his new post as a Third Secretary in the British Embassy.
. Mr Law arrived in Bangkok last Thursday where he will liaise with the Thai Government to stop the drug flow to Hongkong.
He was sent to Bangkok following discussions between the Hongkong Government and the British Ambassador to Bangkok, Sir Arthur de la Mare in the wake of the growing. volume of drug smuggling from the Golden Triangle Hongkong through numerous sea ports in Thailand.

However, according to an English language newspaper, the Nation, Mr Law will not give advice on narcotic suppression but will only serve as liaison officer for the Hongkong Police and will also take care of Hongkong affairs in Thailand.
The Press Secretary of the British Embassy, Mr Martin Ridgeon, said that Mr Law's main duty will be to liaise with the Thai Government in drug suppression.
He pointed out that the Thai Government was as anxious as the Hongkong Government to stamp out the drug traffic to the Colony.
