Ingersol. the Director of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous
· Drugs, had arrived in the Colony.
The spokesman said that Mr Ingersol and other narcotics experts would bu holding talks with the ilongkong Government.
"Beyond that," said the spokesman, "i am not really able to say anything.”
Reports in Hongkong have indicated, however, that US narcotics egents stationed in Southeast Asia will also attend meetings A British narcotics toam is expected to attend as well
Scotland Yard detectives and British diplomats posted in Southeast Asia will be included in the team, according to reports
It is known that Mr Norman Rolph, Commissioner for Narcotics in Hongkong, and Police Commissioner Mr Charles Sutcliffe will be among the Hongkong Government's representatives
The United States Government has repeatedly stated the belief that Hongkong is a' major trafficking spot for narcotics.
Co-operation to fight drugs, however, is claimed to be very close between Britain, the US and Hongkong.
Answering criticisms of Hongkong's anti-drugs efforts made in a US Congressional report earlier this year, the Colony's Narcotics Commissioner, Mr Rolph, was adanant.
