1.

I return herewith the letters from Mr Ellis and Mr Kevin Sinclair to Mr Royle and the letter from Mrs Elsie Elliott to the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister's office has sent the latter to us for any action we think fit.

2.

Mr Royle has agreed to see Mr Ellis in the House of Commons on Friday. He will then deal with the points in Mr Ellis's letter and let him know that he has arranged for the anti-corruption aspects of his personal case to be investigated by the Anti-Corruption Commission in due course. He will also ask him about Mrs Elliott. It would be helpful if we could know what she is, or will be, doing here, what is the timing of her visit and whether she intends to make any contact with us. In this connection Mr Royle may wish to see the article by Martin Woollacott in the Guardian of 28 November which is clearly based on Mr Ellis's letter with additional material, presumably from Mrs Elliott herself.
