HONG KONG: MR GODBER/CORRUPTION/FUGITIVE OFFENDERS ACT
LINE TO TAKE
I see no reason to keep the House in session in order to
debate this particular subject. The question of corruption in
Hong Kong and the particular case of ex Chief Superintendent
Godber was raised during the Foreign Affairs debate on the
Qusen's Speech on 31 October. My Hon Friend the Parliamentary
Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
maounced the Hong Kong Government's action to deal with
corruption in his written Parliamentary reply to the flon Member
for inston-upon-Hull on 17 October. My Rt Hon Friend the
Hinister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs dealt with
18 question of the extradition of Mr Godber to long long in his
ritten Parliamentary reply to a question from the Hon hember for
Lings.con-upon-Hull on 7 November 1973.
