I think you already know the long history of Alan Ellis who was obliged to leave the Hong Kong Police Force a number of years ago. He is now a constituent of mine and he came to see me earlier this week for a discussion on the measures that are being taken to combat corruption in Hong Kong. He seemed to accept the anti-corruption commission. He certainly could not suggest any improvements to its composition or to its terms of reference.
During our conversation he brought up the subject of Mrs. Elsie Elliott and showed me an open letter he had written to Hong Kong newspapers about the plot against her. I said that this was a matter for the Hong Kong Government but that, as his M. P., I would undertake to draw his letter to your attention. This is attached and you may care to read it although it is rather involved and its precise meaning is not entirely clear.
