independent Anti-Corruption Commission including UK Police
When the Governor was in the UK he saw the Commissioner
of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Robert Mark, and they discussed
a possible candidate. But when the officer was interviewed by
Mr Macoun, the Hong Kong Commissioner of Police, and Mr Prendergast,
the new Director of Operations, he was found to be unsuitable.
Mr Prendergast will be discussing possible alternative candidates
with Sir Robert Mark and the Home Office in the next few days.
