Help over extradition
moves

The Government gave assurance yesterday that would assist the Hongkong auth erities who want a former Sus- sex policeman, Air Peter Godber, returned to the colony for ques- tioning about his financial affairs.
A commission of inquiry in Hongkong established that Mr Godber had deposited more than £310,000 in accounts in seven countries. Ile left the colony in June this year.
A warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to volunteer details of his wealth, but the offence is not extraditable.
Air James Johnson, the Labour MP for Kingston-upon- Hull, said yesterday that he had been assured by Mr Anthony Povle, Parliamentary Under-Sec. ! retary at the Foreign and Com- monwealth Ofice. that the
Brish Government was doing everything it could to help the Hongkong Government.
