Office of the Leader of
the Opposition
The Rt. Hon, H. Wilson,
OBE, FRS, MP, House of Commons London SW1
Type 1 +
FROM
Private Secretary
Telephone No. Ext.
Department
In my letter of 20 August I wrote to say that we
were consulting the Governor of Hong Kong about
Mrs Elsie Elliott's letter to Mr Wilson, alleging
corruption in the Hong Kong Resettlement Department. No Chiott's address – 55 Kung hok Road, Kuno Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The Governor has now replied that Mrs Elliott has
Previously.
already in the past made a number of allegations
against staff of the Resettlement Department. These
allegations ranged from malpractice in the allocation
of premises or shop spaces, to irregularities in the
promotion of allegedly unsuitable officers. All
at the time, Mrs Elliott's allegations were investigated both by the Resettlement Department and by the Anti-Corruption
Office, but without result.
The information in Mrs Elliott's letter to Mr Wilson
dated 29 June is apparently insufficiently detailed
to provide the basis for a further investigation but if Mrs Elliott could provide futher details to the
Hong Kong Government they will be fully investigated.
Inchin Min Elliou's letter herewith.
