Queen commutes death sentence
The Queen has commuted to life imprisonment the death sentence passed on a Hongkong murderer, Tsoi Kwok-Cheong, aged 29.
Her decision overrules that of the colony's governor, Sir Murray MacLehose, who upheld the court sentence of capital punishment and reports from Hongkong say the decision has been widely criticized.
