Death
penalty gathers support
A massive committee numbering 200 various social and civic bodies as members, was yesterday formed to steer a 1,000,000-signature campaign aimed at retaining the death penalty.
According to the campaign organiser, Mr Wong Shiu- chcuck, an Urban Councillor, the working committee will. swing into action as soon as it is legally registered, hopefully by June 1.
**The committee will be responsible for printing ques- tionnaires and circulating them to various sectors of the community.
"The questionnaires, which will accommodate 20 signa- tures cach, will be sent to factories, schools, and com- munity organisations.
"Tacy will also be obtainable from kaifong and clansmen
associations."
Mr Wong said that the forms could be returned to any of the 200 member bodies.
"The signatures, which will genuinely reflect the opinions of cross section of the community, will eventually be forwarded to the Queen Khrough the Governor,” he said.
