Hong Kong) in which capital sentences have or may be passed
and in respect of which the exercise of the Royal Prerogative
of Mercy will fall to be considered.
Bahamas

One case which involves three
accused. All three have
appealed to the Bahamas Court of
Appeal which will be hearing the
case in June. If the verdict is
guilty, it seems likely that the
decision on execution will be taken
after Independence.
There are
also two murder cases down for
hearing in current criminal
sessions.
British Honduras
1
Appeal lodged with Court of Appeal
(murder of a police officer
while resisting arrest).
Montserrat
1
One case awaiting hearing in which
conviction is probable. Judgement
not likely before August.
(HMG have no powers to intervene in the internal affairs of the
Associated States]. No details of cases pending in them have
therefore been obtained].
