Subsidiary questions which Sir Y K Kan may raise are the
possibility of long term multiple re-entry permits to the UK
for prominent Hong Kong citizens. This is still being examined
by the Home Office. He may also ask about recent drug cases in
the UK involving Hong Kong Chinese. I have, at his request,
sent details of these cases to Hong Kong with a visiting Home
Office narcotics expert.
6. Sir Y K Kan will also be seeing Mr Royle at 10.30 am on
6 June. A separate copy of this brief has been submitted for
