Death Sentence in Dependent Territories
Existence of the death penalty
The death penalty has been abolished in six of
the 17 Dependent Territories the British Solomon
Islands Protectorate, the Falkland Islands,
Gibraltar, the Gilbert and Ellice Islands Colony,
Pitcairn, St. Helena and dependencies. The death
penalty has been retained in the Seychelles but its
application suspended until 31 December 1975.
