Honourable Members will be asked to advise whether a scheme for the compensation of victims of crimes of violence, on the lines suggested in the Working Party's Report, should be insti- tuted, subject to the provision of the necessary funds by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council..

If Honourable Members give their approval to this scheme, it is intended that the Attorney General should announce this decision in the course of his reply on the 15th or 17th November during the debate on the Governor's address.
(The Assistant to the Law Officers (Mr F. de F. STRATTON) will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item).
