(i)
to imprisonment for not less than six
months nor more than three years; or
(ii)
to corporal punishment.
(3) Where any person is charged before a magis-
trate with an offence under this section, it shall not
be open to the magistrate to exercise, in relation to
such an offence, either the powers conferred by
(Cap.227.)section 36 of the Magistrates Ordinance or the powers
conferred by section 3 of the Probation of Offenders
(Cap. 298.)Ordinance.
(4) Where a person who is not less than 14 years
of age nor more than 16 years of age is convicted of
an offence under this section, section 11(2) of the
Juvenile Offenders Ordinance shall not apply in
(Cap.226.)relation to such person.
(5) No prosecution for an offence under this
section shall be instituted without the consent of
the Attorney General..
(6) Any police officer may stop and search any
person in a public place in order to ascertain whether
or not that person has been guilty of an offence against
this section.
(7) Where a person is convicted of an offence under
subsection (1), the court may make an order for the
forfeiture of any offensive weapon in respect of which
the offence was committed.".
