A BILL
To
Amend the District Court Ordinance.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice
and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the District
Court (Amendment) Ordinance 1973.
2. Section 35 of the principal Ordinance is amended
by deleting "five years" wherever the words occur and
substituting "seven years".
Explanatory Memorandum.
The purpose of this Bill is to increase the
sentencing powers of District Judges from 5 years to
7 years.
