Rapid Transit System, Mr Royle's Office agreed that we
should not authorise Mr Jordan to make this statement
but that we should propose that the Prime Minister
should do so when he is in Hong Kong in January.

It
is likely that the will be under pressure from the
manufacturers to do something about the Generalised
Scheme of Preferences and this will be something
positive he can say in addition to the promises given
by Mr Davies.
