You will have seen Hong Kong telegram No 1478 reporting the suggestion which Mr Jordan made when he was here that the UK might try to get next year's GSP review started fairly early.
2. Michael Butler who, you will recall, discussed this with Jordan, would like to write to him and has approved the attached draft. Could you, Mr Rogers and Miss Welch let me know by close of play this evening whether the draft may issue.
3. If this letter is sent, which you will note is also to be copied to the Governor, there would seem no need to send a long telegram. Perhaps something on the lines of the attached draft could also be sent.
