Notice to Exporters, Series 1 (Britain) No. 11/73
Export of Restrained Textiles to the United Kingdom Extension of Current Control Arrangements until 30th June 1974
Introduction
The current Hong Kong/United Kingdom restraint arrangements regarding cotton yarn and woven cotton and polyester/cotton textiles are due to end on 31st December 1973. The Department has, however, decided on the advice of the Textiles Advisory Board, to extend unilaterally these control arrangements to 30th June 1974.

The 1973 control arrangements will in effect be continued for an undivided period ending 30th June 1974. The coverage, categorisation and conversion factors to be used remain the same and are reproduced at Appendices I and II.
Additional Quote/Permit Allocations to Quote/Permit Holders

The Department will offer all quota/permit holders additional quotas/permits to take account of the longer restraint period. A company's additional quote/permit allocation in each category will be calculated as
follows:

(a) companies will be offered additional quotas and permits
equal to two fifths of the final quotas and permits they have accepted by reference to my allocation letter dated 17th November 1972; and
(b) companies will be offered additional quotes equal to 50%
of the final quotas they have accepted by reference to my allocation letter dated 23rd February 1973.
Unused quote and permit held, plus these addition:l allocations, will be valid for shipment until 30th June 1974- Allocation letters will be sent to individual quote/permit holders as soon as possible.
