Discussion of mandate for textile negotiations
with Hong Kong
We established by discussion with partners that there was no anxiety to discuss Hong Kong mandatė, Moreover (my tel no to Hong Kong) Benelux are
now interested in some kind of informal arrangement,
for their problems. Calling a meeting for 28 May to discuss subject is a blatant example of the Commission (Ernst) trying to rail-road a measure through which would prejudice one of the most
sensitive issues in the discussions for the GATT
textiles agreement.
