HONG KONG: TRADE UNION AFFAIRS AND MR JENKINS
1.
During his meeting with Mr Royle on 20 February, Mr Jenkins
promised to let us have a memorandum outlining his proposals
for improving the present industrial relations machinery in
Hong Kong. Mr Jenkins has now written to Mr Royle giving his
proposals.
2.
I attach a draft letter to Mr Jenkins, prepared by the
Overseas Labour Adviser, thanking him for his letter and
promising to write again when we have received the views of
the Hong Kong Government on his proposals.
