HONG KONG TRADE UNION AFFAIRS AND MR CLIVE JENKINS
1. Mr John Tilney MP, Chairman of the Hong Kong Parliamentary
Group, has written to Mr Royle to say that Mr Jenkins has sent
Flag 6 him a copy of the letter which he wrote on 8 March to Mr Royle
about trade union affairs in Hong Kong. He asks that Mr Royle
should let him have a copy of his reply to Mr Jenkins in due
course.
2.
We have sent a copy of Mr Jenkins' letter to the Deputy
Colonial Secretary in Hong Kong for his comments.
So far,
Flag Mr Royle has only acknowledged Mr Jenkins' letter. I attach
a draft reply saying that Mr Royle will copy the substantive
answer to Mr Tilney.
