Further to my minute of yesterday about the growing strength of the FTU in Hong Kong, there are other factors that may lead to a deterioration of industrial relations in the months ahead. Such evidence that comes my way indicates that Hong Kong has not been immune from the worldwide increases in the cost of living but Hong Kong's position will be made worse by what I understand is the revaluation of China's currency against the Hong Kong dollar.
