SPONSORED VISIT OF HONG KONG URBAN COUNCILLORS

The visiting delegation from the Urban Council (Urbco)
are calling on Sir D Watson at 12 noon on Monday 22 October.
The Chairman of the Council, Mr Arnold 0 de Sales, who was to
join the delegation, has now had to cancel his visit. The
delegation will therefore consist of:

Mr Kenneth T C Lo (appointed member - Solicitor)
Mr Peter P K Ng (appointed member - Architectural Engineer)

are attached.
Immediately before they call on Sir D Watson,
members will have had a programme discussion with the COI.
Background
3. The proposal for the sponsored visit arose out of a
meeting which Mr Royle had with the Hong Kong Parliamentary
Group in July last year when Members suggested that it might be
a good thing to invite some of the Elected Members of Urbco to
Britain. The Governor was consulted. His view was that, if the
visit was intended as reciprocity for MPs visits to Hong Kong,
then the first invitations should rightly go to UMELCO members;
