Those who have lived in Sha Tau Kok, or near Sha Tau Kok and normally use the market there, or who live in remote parts of Mirs Bay and travel via Sha Tau Kok, and have so lived for five years or over, may now have the validity of their passes extended to 3 years.
Those who have lived in these areas for less than five years may have the validity of their passes extended to one year.
(It should be noted that no one under 16 living in
these areas needs a pass.)
Relatives and friends visiting Closed Area residents will be permitted to stay overnight.
Finger-printing and security checks of applicants for passes will be stopped.
Where circumstances warrant, Closed Road Permits for vehicles may be extended to coincide with the validity of the drivers' Closed Area passes.
Temporary passes will be issued at the discretion of the Police Frontier Division to those under 16 résident elsewhere in the Colony who, for compassionate reasons, need to enter the Closed
Area.
