In conclusion, Cheong-Leen remarked that he was
glad to see that the Stock Market had come down to a
reasonable level. As we knew, Sir Y K Kan and his
team would be visiting Britain shortly to encourage
firms to invest in high technology enterprises in
Hong Kong. Hong Kong was finding this increasingly
necessary because of the growing competition from
Taiwan.
