Although we assume that the Prime Minister's programme for his visit to Hong Kong must be extremely full, my Chairman and Managing Director have asked me to say that should Mr. Heath wish to have the opportunity to visit either New Mercury House or any of our technical installations we should be only too delighted to arrange it. Incidentally, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office are aware that this invitation is being made.
It is an interesting point, of which. the Prime Minister may be unaware, that the international telecommunications demands of Hong Kong are almost as big as those of the whole of Australia.
Cable and Wireless will of course be providing special facilities to accommodate the extra demands of the press during the Prime Minister's visit as a matter of course.
